SYNERGY

An interactive app design where music and photography combine to create a personalized listening experience. Synergy generates customized playlists for its users based on their emotional reactions to photography. In addition, it acts as a social platform for individuals to share what they are listening too and discover new artists and genres. The minimal user interface design creates a modern look and allows the images and sound to be the focal point.

The concept for Synergy was derived from my lifelong love for both music and photography. As a child I would often spend hours in my room listening to CDs and borrowing my mother’s camera until I was gifted my own. I have always felt that there is a strong emotional connection between photography and music, so I developed a survey which provided me with data on how individuals respond to emotional, visual, and musical cues. I then combined my photographic images with the data I collected to conduct user testing before developing the prototype.
